Catholic Early Learning Centres Curriculum


The opportunity to demonstrate early mathematical understandings and skills is an integral part of a young child’s play. 

1. Play and use of “hands-on” activities provide opportunities for children to gain an understanding of concepts of number pattern, space, shape and measurement.

2. Children will be given opportunities that are designed to encourage thinking and test possible solutions in order to develop problem solving skills

3. The language associated with mathematics will be core to building children’s early Numeracy understandings.

4. Aspects of the ‘Count Me In Too’ program will be utilised to support development of early numeracy knowledge and understanding.
